Venus Gillette x Vera Bradley

It's finally feeling like summer time here in San Francisco so you know what that means...well at least for me that is! It means that I now have to actually look decent and shave my legs and armpits! Recently, Venus Gillette collab-ed with Vera Bradley to create her signature design onto a shaver. On top of that, they created a similar simple design for a shaving cream to go along with her collab shaver.

First off, I want to state that I love Venus razors before all of this already! It has always given me a very close and clean shave with a good grip bar, but most importantly, it has never cut me, like the other razors I've used before. On top of that, my legs always feel super soft and smooth whenever I shave with a Venus razors due to the lotion bars that are on their shavers. Friendly tip, if your razor starts to cut you, it might be time for you to toss that dull razor out. Let's talk about the shaver-- the feel, the look and most importantly...the effectiveness.

The shaver is advertised as comfort glide and it definitely glided onto my legs smoothly. Compared to my old Venus razor handle, which feel lightweight, cushiony and almost gel-like; this one is a lot more sturdy with their weighted metal bar! The design of the bar is very simple and not busy like you would imagine Vera Bradley's designs to be-- which I enjoyed! Nothing beats a simple and sleek design. Strangely, the box that the shaver came in smelled really good. Initially, I thought the scent transferred over from the shave cream (and I wasn't mad about it if it were the case) until I realized that this shaver actually came in a sugarberry scent! The shaver came along with 2 cartridges; one was a refill and it had the signature moisture bars on the top and bottom of the shaver giving you that added moisture for a lush, soft and clean shave. I feel that with the moisture bars on the shaver, a shaving cream is not needed. I tested this out where I shaved with the shaver itself and then the following week, I tried it with the shaving cream. Final result, the shave cream is not really needed since the shaver has a top and bottom moisture bar. It was still able to glide onto my legs and armpit easily without any creams. But let's talk about the shave cream!

Before trying this shave cream, I have never thought to ever spend any money on shaving creams. To me, my hair conditioner works just as well and gets the job done! But this shaving cream smells soooooo good and leaves my legs soft and moisturized from the shea butter in it. The product itself comes in a honeyflower scent and to be honest, I don't know how honeyflower smells like, but this scent smells amazing! It does not smell super floral-ly, where you feel like you're a giant walking flower afterwards. I really wish I can describe scents better but you would just have to trust me on this one and take a whiff of it at your local Target if you're skeptical. The tube is huge for the inexpensive price tag. In addition, the texture of the shaving cream is of a cream consistency. Therefore, it doesn't lather up into a foam, so don't expect that to happen because its not going to happen and a little product goes a looong way! This shave cream may be best for people with razors that doesn't come with a moisture bar or if their moisture bar from their current shaver is all gone but they're having trouble letting go of that razor because it still works (me 99% of the time). Now finally, lets move to the tube itself. The squeeze bottle feels very comfortable! Its semi matte, so you're not slipping and gripping the bottle as you try to squeeze products into your hands, with the water is running!

All in all, I would give both products 5 stars! You don't have to try both, and if I were to recommend one, I would say go for the shaver. Because you can always use conditioner as a shave cream and then follow up with your lotion of choice once you hop out of the shower.
